Continuing Education

As with any profession, interpreters must continually hone and expand their skills and knowledge. A foundation program such as The Community Interpreter Training program is a great start, but it only serves as an introduction to the world of professional interpreting. Continuing education workshops tend to focus on specific areas or skills of interpreting and often carry CEUs (continuing education units) required to maintain interpreter certifications. As professional interpreters we owe it to ourselves, our clients and the profession to never stop investing in our own education.
